The Museum of Military History will proudly be welcoming Miss Karina Schmitt, the President of the American Patriotic Awareness Coalition, of Danish descent, and a South Floridian as our Guest Author for this month.
Miss Schmitt will be presenting her book, ‘When the Germans Came’, a true and heroic memoir of courageous World War II Veteran, Ole Bjørnsen, a Danish soldier fiercely fought back the Nazi invasion of Denmark with less than 6 months of training but still endured the 5 dark years of German occupation, the persecution of Jews in Denmark, his involvement in the Danish resistance movement, and the long awaited liberation day.
This event will be conducted by the Museum staff. Custom made Dog Tags will be available for purchase along with copies of the author’s presented book that will be signed by the author upon purchase. All proceeds will support the Museum’s ability to continue educating the public on the rich history of our military services and the contribution that the men and women have made to our nation’s freedoms and gain a better understanding of what it means to serve. This event will be open to the public. Families are encouraged to attend and take part in the epics of our military heroes.
