The Museum of Military History is seeking out dedicated, reliable, and enthusiastic volunteers, interns, and future employees who share a passion for preserving our Nation's proud heritage aiding to continue our mission to educate the public on the cost of freedom and how it was paid for by the sacrifices of the men and women of our Armed Forces.
Volunteers and Interns help in many areas of the Museum & Library such as:
Library
Volunteers will have the opportunity to get involved on the frontlines of the Museum's Library through duties such as collection maintenance, patron & librarian assistance, updating our inventory, and more.


Special Collections and Digital Lab
The Special Collections and Digital Lab features a wide range of fascinating military artifacts, including uniforms, letters, medals, photographs, etc. Translation skills, educational experience, or previous experience in the field may be necessary for projects in this department. Projects with this department will require you to work with a museum staff member while under their guidance and supervision.
Project & Artifact Research
Volunteers assisting in museum research will work with a museum staff member while under their guidance and supervision. This opportunity to participate will give the volunteer a range of responsibilities from conducting research on a certain military artifact or service member, to overall research on a special topic for the creation of new exhibits. Prior knowledge of Microsoft office and how to conduct academic research is strongly encouraged to have but not limited to.


Commander’s Calls & Programs
Help serve our guests and attend programs FREE of charge! This can range from prior set up and break-down of museum events, assisting guests and staff in the museum, or manning a museum information table at a local public event in Osceola County. Volunteers and Interns may also assist a museum staff member with our Mobile Museum when attending outdoor community events.
Museum Docent
Volunteer docents bring a one-of-a-kind experience to all museum visitors. Each volunteer is responsible in familiarizing themselves with the museum’s exhibits and artifacts to help create their own unique script that will be utilized in our museum's exceptional tours.
No experience or prior military background is required but all knowledge U.S. history and military technology is welcomed.
